I wanted to dismantle the belief that transgender people do it for attention, or for the trend, and highlight the pain we go through for ourselves, not others.

I showcased the graphic imagery of many syringes to destigmatize this experience and to encourage a deeper understanding for why we exist the way we do.

Men in formalwear is something I associate highly with masculinity. I got fitted for formal wear for my sister’s wedding and it was a unique experience that hurts someone like me and impacted my mental health and view of myself.

I wanted to capture it in the way that I interpret it and also criticize the idea that a man in a suit is “normal.”
